You don’t have to drive to Concord or Boston to keep in touch with interesting readers, writers, musicians, other artists, and thinkers. Don’t let these opportunities slip—you never know what you’ll learn or guess the interesting people you are likely to meet.
Check some of the places in this drop-down menu: visit them—hardly any resource is more than a brisk twenty minute walk for many of us (a good idea, even if you’re not going anywhere). Join a reading or writing group at the library, spend some time reading the stones in one of the three historic graveyards, attend a local concert, take an art class.
Of course, if you have ideas for developing more creative resources locally, send me a note or let any of the helpful and interesting people at the Thayer Memorial Library know about them.
